Festival in the Field - What a Success!

A person in a yellow top, shorts and sunglasses is leaning against a paddock gate. A big sign on the gate reads: Dandelion, and there's pastel coloured bunting hanging above it.

What a day for it!

Today (16 July) at The Field was our first 'Festival in the Field' - a chance for the local community to come and enjoy some tasty food and great music, as well as some activities for all ages. All free! We had fantastic weather as well which meant everyone's' spirits were high. There were two different vegan soups on offer: a curried vegetable soup, and a bean and tomato soup. I can tell you first hand that they were both braw.

The activities we put on throughout the day proved popular too: some local kids went on some woodland adventures with shelter building; our musician in residence, Liam Ross, led a great soundscape session, with musicians of all experience levels, and our Growing Lead, Finlay Keiller, had a line of folk waiting hear about what we were growing in the Seed Garden.

But the big highlight of the day was, of course, the several amazing music acts we had lined up: Orin and Quin Simpson; Christina Stewart and Grace Stewart-Skinner, of Cionar; our own Liam Ross; Mairearad Green, and Fras. I think we all heard some very talented people to keep an eye on in future...
