Harvest

Five people in a garden are smiling at the camera. There is a wildflower patch behind them and a wheelbarrow holding produce from the garden in the foreground. The people are smiling and holding different objects: a rake, a pitchfork, weeder, guitar and a super-8 film camera.

From islands, to villages, to towns and cities, everyone was invited to take part in Dandelion Harvest.

Dandelion Harvest

With the aim of re-establishing Harvest as an event on the national calendar, Dandelion culminated in 2022 with over 500 Harvests across the country. Events were hosted at our 13 Unexpected Gardens across Scotland featuring live music, poetry and spoken word performances, storytelling, mural painting, cook-alongs, film screenings, craft and creative workshops, parades and ceilidhs - each location had its own unique programme and everyone was welcome!

Dandelion also supported 44 local community organisations around the country to create their own Harvest celebrations. From veg-growing community football teams, to cook-ups in community allotments, apple harvesting and pressing, the chance to make seaweed fertiliser or get hands-on with jam and chutney-making – these rooted celebrations of Harvest sprouted across the country from the Orkney Islands, to Stirling, from Fife to Oban and down to Dumfries and Galloway.

For those who couldn’t make it to an event Dandelion extended the invitation to “grow your own” with the help of specially-created resources, and to come together with friends, family, colleagues or community and join the hundreds of others celebrating Harvest across Scotland. Find out more here.

Host your own Harvest

Anyone was invited to “grow your own” Harvest with the help of our resources, and join the hundreds of other events across Scotland.

Dandelion Community Harvests

The Dandelion Harvest Grants Programme, in partnership with BEMIS, supported 44 community organisations to develop events this year.
