About
Join Dandelion’s Cubes Bike Tour across Scotland this summer.
The Cubes will make a stop at Agnew Park at 11:00, followed by Castle St John at 12:00 and Stranraer Unexpected Garden on Harbour Street at 13:00. The Stranraer visit ends with a stop at Stair Park Football Club at 15:30.
A touring fleet of cargo bikes displaying our growing cubes – miniature vertical farms – will travel the Highlands and Lowlands throughout August. Four custom-made, electrically assisted bikes – each carrying a cube - will visit ten towns and cities, stopping at school playgrounds, green spaces, Unexpected Gardens and town centres, encouraging everyone to sow, grow and share food, but also music, knowledge and ideas. We’ll be giving away free seed packets so that everyone can grow their own herbs at home, and find out more about our Harvest celebrations in September.
At each stop, the cubes will play music specially commissioned for Dandelion by Scottish and international artists, including Vendanth Bhardawaj, Arooj Aftab & Maeve Gilchrist, Fergus McCreadie, Ravi Bandhu, Trio Da Kali, and amiina & Kathleen MacInnes. Featuring programmable, immersive lighting integrated with quadraphonic speaker systems designed to best showcase the new music playing from the cubes.

There is a car park behind Burns House which is next to the entrance to the garden which is the best pick-up and drop-off point. Anyone displaying a valid blue badge can park in any marked disabled bay.
Access
The garden has hardstanding pavements and pathways around and across it which are flat, wide, and accessible. The garden itself has fairly even grassy ground. We would encourage people to dress for the weather, which is often windy and can be cold even in the sunshine.
Assistance dogs are welcome and fresh drinking water will be provided.
Stranraer High Street is just a short 4 minute walk away and has a variety of coffee shops and restaurants.
