Our Free for Alls are travelling Scotland this summer, bringing free plants to anyone who fancies having a grow. Join us for mini-festivals of growing – with performances, advice on how to get started and free plants for all. You can just turn up on the day with no need to book, and both admission and plants will be – yes! – absolutely free.
We’ll be at the Stranraer Harbour and Marina with another big plant plug giveaway.

Venue and Access Information
Travel
The town of Stranraer these days is a popular marine leisure destination. The promenade is located along the popular, main stretch of Stranraer waterfront on the A717. It is located to the east of Breastworks Car Park, which is accessed from Market Street. The Free for All location is based at the heart of Stranraer, with close access to many vibrant cafes, Stranraer Museum and the main shopping district.
Scotrail trains run from Girvan Rail Station to Stranraer Harbour Station approx every 4 hours and the journey time is 55mins. Stranraer Harbour Rail Station is located on the waterfront at Off Port Rodie, Stranraer, DG9 8EJ
Bus travel is available via Stagecoach West Scotland number 58 from Girvan Rail station and to Tesco Superstore at Charlotte St in Stranraer and runs approx every 2 hours. Walking distance to the site is 0.4m and takes only 2 mins on flat ground.

Parking
Ample, free public parking is available along the waterfront at the Breastworks Car Park at Sailwest West Pier, Stranraer, DG9 7RE. As always, we encourage everyone, if possible, and especially if local, to leave the car at home and use active travel and arrive by foot, bike, or scooter.
There is plenty of free disabled parking available also in the close by Breastworks Car Park. Anyone displaying a valid blue badge may park in a ‘limited waiting’ bay without time restriction. Anyone displaying a valid blue badge can park in any marked disabled bay.
Toilets
There are public toilets with access to accessible toilets and baby change facilities at the Stranraer Museum, which is a short 5-minute walk.
Access
Access to the Free for All site is level and the space is a mixture of paved and grass. The waterfront has seating benches looking out across the Irish Sea.
The Free for All Information Point will be situated at the entrance to the event site.
Assistance dogs are welcome and fresh drinking water will be provided.
